The One about a Kids’ Show.

Want to experience something truly wild? Attend a live action kids’ show.

Last Friday, Matt and I took Riley to see PJ Masks LIVE in Long Beach and guys, days later and I’m still laughing about it. My family bought Riley the tickets for his birthday and my mom offered to watch Rhys, so how could we say no?
I knew from the get-go that it was going to be a thing. I knew it would be fun to have a night with just the three of us. I knew that Riley would enjoy the show and the spectacle.

But what I didn’t know, was what to actually expect.

And Sweet. Actual. Mercy.

I didn’t realize it until about a day before that the show was a musical. So on top of it being over-acted (because, kids), there was a whole lot of loud music and corny songs and good gracious I could not stop laughing.

Add in the fact that the whole auditorium was abuzz the whole time as it was packed with kids that were all hopped up on adrenaline and light toys and seeing superheroes come to life in front of them. Most kids screamed or talked loudly or danced (like the girl sitting behind us, who I seriously adored) or just made some sort of noise the whole time.
UntitledRiley, on the other hand, basically sat with his mouth agape almost the entire show. I’m pretty sure he was stunned and didn’t actually understand what the hell was going on around him. I mean yes, he got excited when he saw the PJ Masks but Matt and I had to keep asking him if he was having fun and asking him questions about the show.

Overall, it was a good night. It was hilarious. And I have a feeling we’ll get roped into another one of these in the future.

Have you been to a kids’ show? Are they all insane?

happy wednesday!
