I may have mentioned it before (or maybe I haven’t, my brain is pretty fried these days) but I’m pretty close with my family. And I realize, that makes me quite lucky. And somewhat unique even.

And this past summer my sister was unemployed, my younger brothers were home from college and my mom had a month off (she works at a high school). And it was pretty glorious.

However, in the past few weeks my mom has gone back to work, my sister has found a mostly full-time job, my younger brother went back to New York for college and my youngest brother enlisted in the Marines.

Needless to say, there are a lot of changes over here.

And it’s just now hitting me how big those changes are.

I can’t just call one of them up on a whim any more to come to the park or watch Riley or just do whatever. We’re growing up, we’re moving on and thank god for FaceTime.

My brothers are in COLLEGE and the MARINES.

Seriously, my baby brother is holding MY BABY:
That kid is in boot camp right now. How that happened, I’ll never know.

But really the point of this post is to say that I’m sort of on my own again – making plans, arranging things not on a whim and missing my siblings.

Life is weird.

Growing up is weirder.

happy weekend!
