Big Glasses & Paper Crowns.

The holidays are almost here, so weekends are for getting things done. And having fun. And mentally preparing myself for all the craziness and fun times to come.

Friday: A fairly lazy day. I slept in, started a new book, enjoyed a good snack on the patio, watched my Thursday night shows. Twas delightful. The evening was an actual night out. My friend Katrina celebrated her 30th birthday in style!

UntitledShe rented out a room at a country club so we all got fancy and ate cupcakes, did the Electric Slide and enjoyed the open bar (cranberry sprite please). It was fun to catch up with friends and Kat’s family and oh, did I mention the photo booth? Because yeah, that was the best. And I sort of really love photo booths.

After endless dancing and laughs we finally called it a night. Seriously, we stayed out past midnight – I was so impressed with all of us, ha. All in all, it was a great way to ring in a birthday and kick off the weekend.

Saturday: Operation: Baby Room day. Matt and our friend Gianni tackled the kiddos room. They moved some furniture around, built a crib, did a Goodwill run and ultimately set up the room and ohmygosh our kid has a place to sleep! I mean yes, of course I’ll share pictures eventually but right now it’s still pretty minimum. And now I can tackle actual decorating things and organizing and wee.

After our baby room we all headed to lunch to celebrate before heading on over to Gianni’s house to help them with more house projects. And by help I mean, I vacuumed things and Matt hung things.

The evening was excellent. While I saw so many people having Friendsgiving, we had our own little high school friend hangout watching the USC/UCLA game. The game was terrible, but the company was excellent. We BBQed and had treats and snacks and got to catch up on all things awesome, and just, I love my people.

Sunday: Another day-o-baby! Matt and I set off to Target to start our registry (seriously, how could I not register there? Ha) and then to Babies-R-Us to check out things in person. Seriously, it was a bit overwhelming, but also really fun. I might have gone a little tag crazy and basically added all sorts of random things to our registry.

After hitting our baby quota for the day Matt and I had a little lunch date. The rest of the  afternoon and evening was spent hanging out with my mother-in-law and hijacking her washer and dryer. So you know, fun times. We hung out, we watched a movie (Edge of Tomorrow, I actually enjoyed it), we watched football, we chatted baby things, we had a tasty dinner and just had a generally lovely end of the weekend.

And how was your weekend? Any movie watching, lounging, tacos?

happy tuesday!
