Dino Pumpkins & Fall-like fun times.

October is delightful. Weekends are delightful. October weekends have proven to be quite delightful. Sensing a theme over here? Delightful weekends in October. Huzzah.

Friday: Started my work day early so my afternoon could be free. And why did I need my afternoon free? Because Matt suggested we catch a matinee of Keanu Reeves’ new movie, John Wick. And how could I say no to that?!? Honestly. It was the first Keanu movie I’ve seen in theater in eight years. And oh was it worth it. The movie was nothing extraordinary, but I so very much enjoyed it and enjoyed Keanu. The evening we spent cheering on the Royals, eating Mediterranean food and having a delightfully lazy time.

Saturday: A day of things. Busy things. Fun things. All things. We started off the morning at one of my favorite places, the zoo! It was all decked out for Halloween and our friend came with her two year old, and just, the zoo is excellent. We enjoyed the animals with pumpkins, we rode the carousel, and had an all around pleasant afternoon.

After the zoo, we headed to our friends’ house for a good ole pumpkin carving party. It was so fun to catch up, play with the kiddos, eat some Fall treats and have a generally good time. And Matt probably had the best time, turning his giant pumpkin into a dinosaur. Whereas I enjoyed a whole lot of guac and cookies (just not together, I may be pregnant, but not crazy, ha).

Pumpkin carving party!

Pumpkin carving party!

After the party, Matt and I headed out to dinner with his dad. It was good to catch up and see him for a good evening of good eats.

Post-dinner Matt and I (mainly Matt) were still revving to be social and stay out, so we invited my aunt, uncle and parents to our local dive party and had a good time over drinks and sports. And you know, just a good ole Saturday evening.

Sunday: I woke up feeling like I had a hangover. Apparently long days and being pregnant and not drink equal a morning with a headache and exhaustion. So I had cookies for breakfast. Naturally.

Eventually I got myself together and Matt and I hit up a consignment sale where I hit it big with kids books and Matt got an excellent suit for five whole dollars, huzzah. Afterwards Matt left to watch football, I watched a Criminal Minds marathon and napped for way too long. The evening was spent eating Mexican food, snuggling my niece, watching the Royals lose and having a good ole time with family.

And then that was the weekend. And I’m ready for another one.

And how was your weekend? Any pumpkin carving? October parties? Baby snuggling?

happy monday!
