Wax On, Wax Off.

Remember when I went to The Hollywood Wax Museum a few weeks ago?

Well. It was awesome.

It was one of those afternoons where I got to be a tourist in my hometown which is always fun because it’s so easy to forget that there are so many things to do in Hollywood. They may mostly ridiculous and you may not always assume wax museums are all that happening, but you would be wrong.

A Saturday afternoon with four silly friends is exactly what The Hollywood Wax Museum is for. It was me, Matt, Megan and JR and you guys, we took some good pictures. And shouted out movie quotes. And danced with Beyonce and Michael Jackson. And I got to practice my genie moves.

And we learned some movie trivia (each display had trivia about the person or the movie). And we (by we I mean me) got scared in the Horror movie section. Although by the look of this picture Matt was pretty scared too, ha.

I think the most realistic one there was Morgan Freeman. I mean, you be the judge? Is that not so lifelike? Can you not hear his booming voice coming through that wax stature, ha.

All in all it was a great afternoon of silliness and I’m so glad I had fun friends to visit with. If you’re ever in the area I definitely recommend adding The Hollywood Wax Museum to one of your touristy stops.

Some Hollywood Wax Museum fun facts:

  • Hollywood Wax Museum is the longest-running wax museum in the United States. It has been the most visited indoor attraction in Hollywood since 1965. Plans are in the works to celebrate the Museum’s 50th Anniversary in 2015.

  • Hollywood Wax Museum was the first wax museum to dedicate its entire show to Hollywood, celebrities and pop culture.

  • Each wax figure is a piece of art. Over time and currently, the Hollywood Wax Museum has worked with numerous sculptors, mold makers, and finishers to create life-like wax figures. Stylistic differences occur depending on which artists crafted the figures.
