High Flying.

You know those weekends where Sunday night comes along and you’re like “wait, what did I do this weekend?” and then you remember and you’re just shocked because HOW DID YOU DO THAT!? Yeah. It was one of those weekends.

Friday: So when I got an invite to take a trapeze class I jumped at the chance. Only hours before the class was supposed to happen did I actually freak the eff out. I mean yes, I have gone sky diving and cliff diving but I do have a legit fear of falling and a trapeze class is just falling, forever, at a high place. Catch my drift?

So after work I made my way to the Santa Monica Pier where Drea, Meghan and I proceeded to make jokes and really question our sanity about swinging high on a trapeze.
But you guys, we did it. Meghan swung perfectly twice and Drea even hung upside down, I was such a proud friend that at least one of us could do it. Once I made it to the top I was shaking and had tears streaming down my face within 30 seconds but I managed to finally let go and swing back and forth and that was enough adventure for one day.
After the trapezing was the reason we were there, to sample some wine from FishEye Winery. It was quite lovely and I’ll tell you all about it on Wino Wednesday. So that my friends, is what I call one hell of a Friday night.

Saturday: Oh a day of errand running and spending too much money at Trader Joe’s and catching up on Netflix, aka the best kind of Saturday afternoons. Saturday afternoon turned into evening and evening meant drinks and dinner with friends and family. ย And then, it was time for The Dark Knight Rises and you guys. It was so good. It may have been really long, but it was amazing. Bane (Tom Hardy) was terrifying. Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) was fabulous. Officer Blake (JGL) was awesome. And just. Ah. So many things. The ending was perfection and I really hope they don’t make any more but oh this movie was so worth the wait and anticipation.

Sunday: The best kind of day. We spent the afternoon at my mother-in-law’s doing laundry and lounging in her pool and watching movies and just, yes. It was relaxing and productive, the best. And so very summery and lovely.

And how was your weekend? Did you watch Batman, do some productive things, do some crazy things?

happy monday!

Uhh I watched Batman too – loooved JGL, he did an amazing job! Hathway blew all doubts about her as catwoman away and oh how I would love for Nolan to stay on as director of these films.

Sooo much respect to you for going thru with the trapeze – I couldn’t do it.

1) So jealous of the flying trapeze thing. It’s one my bucket list, but they don’t offer it in Cape Town.
2) Dark knight rises isn’t out in SA yet. Can’t wait to see it though.
3) Have done absolutely nothing interesting on the weekend. Read book, watched “Due Date” and walked on the beach. That’s about it.

Trapeze flying sounds AMAZING. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try. So cool!!

JGL was totes awesome in The Dark Knight Rises. So gorgeous and yummy. Oh… and his acting was good too. Yeah. Definitely. And I *loved* Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. It was a really great movie!!

WAY TO GO YOU! I’m terrified of heights (you shoudn’t be surprised by this since we have SO MUCH in common) so I don’t know if I could do this but maybe I’d try?

This past weekend was finding my mom’s mother of the bride dress which she looks awesome in, an impromptu wine tasting (try Goose Bump red wine from Sicily; so good and didn’t make me sleepy) and making a delicious dinner while watching how I met your mother repeats on netflix because I’m in love with that show :) Yesterday relax and get random crap done day which was great!

Omg I am so impressed that you did that (and sky diving AND cliff diving!)!! Kudos to you! I still need to see The Dark Knight Rises, but I’m glad I’ve been hearing only good things. :)

I’m so looking forward to seeing Batman–I think we’re going to go this weekend! Pretty sure I heard that it’s a trilogy, so this will probably be it, but I’ll bet they find some way to spin it off into other movies.

I can’t believe you did the trapeze! That is so awesome! I want to throw up at the thought of sky diving or trapeze jumping or anything, but I’m always so impressed by other people who do it :)

OMG trapeze. you and I are the exact same. I had the same literal reaction. I was a complete mess and could not stop crying. Frightening. You are my soul sister girl.
