It’s official, I don’t ever want Summer to leave. Well, scratch that. Summer can take the humidity and the 90+ heat and leave me with good times and 70+ degrees instead. Yeah, I’ll take that, all the time, forever and ever.
Friday: Another glorious summer Friday. As in a day where I didn’t work but rather worked out and did a massive cleaning spree of my apartment. That night, my whole family went to the Dodger game to celebrate my mom’s birthday and oh what a game. My favorite, Andre Ethier, was back in the game (he didn’t do well, but whatever), the Dodgers won, got to spend some quality family time and there was an awesome fireworks show at the end.
All in all the perfect way to ring in the weekend and my mom’s birthday, hurrah.
Saturday: Oh you know, errands, chopped my hair off, had a horrible headache that caused me to sleep away most of the day. And then an evening spent in watching Sherlock Holmes, not too shabby in the end.
Sunday: Happy birthday mom! We started the official birthday celebration with a big ole family breakfast (and somehow I didn’t get a picture of the birthday girl herself – for shame!) and it was just divine. I mean it’s hard to go wrong when Roscoe’s is the place.
After breakfast Matt and I made our way to Beverly Hills to meet up with Nicole, James Bond, Drea and Sara for a very LA day. Well more like an LA tourist day. We all decided to take the Beverly Hills Trolley Tour and you guys, it did not disapoint. For five bucks it was 45 minutes of touring the Hills and getting a full on narration by a woman with an awesome voice. It was great. And the perfect way to spend the afternoon.
After our ride we were super classy and got coffee and treats at Bouchon and just, it was lovely. The best kind of way to spend an afternoon. Matt and I even took a long scenic drive home and it was heavenly.
In the evening we grabbed margaritas with my sister and my parents to wrap up the birthdayness (seriously, my family loves birthdays if you couldn’t tell) and I pretended that the weekend wasn’t ending.
Overall it was one lovely weekend and I’m already sad to see it go.
And how was your weekend? Any summer adventures?
happy monday!

Sounds wonderful! Nothing too summery or wonderful for me this weekend–it was rainy with highs in the mid-60s, and we had to go back to Ikea, aka the 7th circle of hell, haha!
I would love to take the trolley tour! Next time I am in LA I will have to check that out. Also love how often you get together with your LA friends.
Saturday I ate a ginormous hot dog with mac & cheese (I think you’d like it), met a favorite author, bought our wedding rings and had a great cupcake, all topped off with mexican dining al fresco on Saturday night. I didn’t want Saturday to end, actually!
Totally just stole that photo. <3
I think I’m due for a trip out west!
Sounds like an awesome weekend! And yes, these 90+ degree days have to go, I’m ready for more 70s and 80s as highs. Yes please.
