Pretty things & silly things.

Oh. This weekend. Was full of good times and family and a wedding (my favorite!) and just, it went too fast. But oh was it lovely so here we go.

Friday: After a particularly slow day at work Matt and I treated my brothers to an evening out. We went to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (which despite horrific reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed) and had dinner afterwards and it was lovely. It was nice to spend time with my brothers and Matt and just have a good night overall.

Saturday: Wedding day! Matt and I woke up early, finished packing and made our way up to San Luis Obispo for a wedding! If you know me, you know that I LOVE weddings. Seriously, they’re just the best all around and this one was no different. This wedding was even more fun because it was my sister-in-law’s brother tying the knot so we knew a few of the family members and friends there and oh what a day.

One. The wedding was gorgeous. The whole day was held at Santa Margarita Ranch and the couple got married under a beautiful tree and lights and I kept telling Matt “this is so chic! and woodsy!” I think he was a little thrown off by the whole barn vibe, but I loved it.

Two. Picture perfect. I mean this wedding was just awesome for silly photos.
Three. I also kept saying how this wedding could be featured on Style Me Pretty because of all the amazingly gorgeous little details.
Four. The night overall was great. The reception was in an actual barn, with sparkly lights and owls in the rafters and oh, just lovely. The food was tasty and the wine was flowing. I found a prop box and proceeded to wear ridiculous glasses all night while tearing up the dance floor with the groom’s aunt and niece and it was just the best.

Sunday: Let’s just say this day consisted of a hangover. A very unfair hangover if I do say so myself. Nonetheless I did it to myself and hence a whole day was wasted of sleeping, drinking ginger ale and watching bad television once we got home. Blergh.

But overall, despite the hungoverness and huge reassertion that I’m not so young any more (and neither is my freaking liver), it was still a great weekend. So who’s getting married next? I need another wedding to go to!

And how was your weekend? Any weddings? Any hangovers? Or all the fun?

happy tuesday!

My friend is getting married in August and I’m the photographer … All the nerves. Need to brush up on my photography skills.

Friday: had a rather disappointing veggie pasta at Woodstock Lounge.
Saturday: ran 15km, went to the Vodacom Funny Festival.
Sunday: had a lovely breakfast of French toast and fried bananas at Lola’s in Long Street. Walked around town, took photos and popped into the Holocaust museum and had lunch.
Nice, quiet weekend. Nothing crazy.

Sounds like an amazing weekend! I saw Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter last Wednesday, and was also very surprised by how much I enjoyed it…I’m really glad that I hadn’t read any reviews beforehand as it might have put me off altogether!

I can’t remember the last time I had a hangover, and I’m glad for that. Though I think with the upcoming July 4th holiday and bridal showers that are starting soon that will likely change.

Weekend.. .circus! amazing chicken! library! Science center! (in case you couldn’t tell, we had the midglets with us!)
