Did you know that tomorrow is National Sauvignon Blanc Day? Well. Now you do.
To celebrate such a glorious holiday (I mean how can you go wrong when there’s a day dedicated to wine??) my friends at Pasternak Wine Imports sent me several bottles of different Sauv to try (the best right?):
Today I’m going to talk about two of these, because that works right? Both bottles were from France and oh how they did not disapoint.
Last night we opened up the bottle of JaJa Sauvignon Blanc and besides a lovely cursived bottle it was also quite delicious. First of all, I love that it’s twist off. As much as I love collecting corks and how fancy they make me feel, a twist off cap is quite nice for the cork challenged like myself. Second of all, the wine itself had delicious honeylike taste to it that made me enjoy it that much more. It also was quite citrusy (like I how I keep making words up?) which Matt and I also enjoyed.
We also tried the La Petite Perriere Sauvignon Blanc and YOU GUYS. It’s dangerous how good this Sauv is. It’s so light and crisp and hands down one of the best Sauvignon Blanc’s I’ve ever had.
It paired perfectly with my chickpea salad and was just a lovely wine to enjoy. It was one of the lightest wines I’d ever had and basically didn’t last all that long. Matt enjoyed it just as much as we both agreed it was an excellent Sauv. I probably enjoyed it even more because it was so peachy flavored but really it was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it if you ever come across it in your wine ventures.
So enjoy some Sauv tomorrow to celebrate a fabulous day!
