Wino Wednesday the Fifteenth.

Remember that trip to San Fransisco I took a few weeks ago? And how we went to Napa? Well one of my favorite wineries that we stopped at was Elizabeth Spencer. It was an adorable boutique winery and I figured why not give them a fabulous shout out for today’s feature. So here we go:

Here’s a little snippet about them from their site:
Our belief is that wine should be delicious and representative of its appellation of origin. We make wines to drink — inviting wines that we and our friends (and by extension, our customers) truly enjoy. The model for all of our wines is intensity without excess weight, purity, persistence and length.

We source fruit from a handful of dedicated growers and a dozen vineyard blocks. Our growers provide us with continuity of high quality fruit, and we pay them fairly and reliably, in vintages of scarcity and excess. In an era of corporate grape contracts, our long-term agreements consist simply of mutual high regard and a handshake. We make Cabernet Sauvignon from select vineyards in the Napa Valley. Our Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah come from the Sonoma Coast appellation. In 2005, we produced very small quantities of Napa Valley Chardonnay, Mendocino Sauvignon Blanc and Sonoma Coast Rosé of Syrah.

The place itself was so dang cute. It was like a little brick house just beckoning us in with its adorable font and shrubbery and wineness.

The inside was pretty small and intimate with lots of wine lining the walls. And they had plenty of people on hand to help with tastings and give background on the wines and just loved it. They also had two giant bottles for guests to sign that I loved (even though we didn’t, haha).

Despite how cute inside was, it was a PERFECT day so we decided to take our wine tasting experience outside. And you guys, the cutest. There was a large circus-like tent set up and adorable tables and couches and pumpkins and a gorgeous vineyard lining the place. It was perfection. Add to that, our flights were only $15 each (a steal!) and we got to try five different wines. And the wine itself? Splendid.

Their Riesling was one of the best Rieslings I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously it was sweet and delectable and perfect for an Autumn afternoon on a patio. And then the Chardonnay. Oh. Em. Gee. It was amazing. And luckily they opened up a bottle for us to try and everyone agreed it was the best chardonnay they’d ever had. It was crisp and smooth and just a big win for everyone. The various reds they poured were also a hit with the table. I loved the cab that they brought us and I was so proud of myself for being such a fan of a red (hurrah reds!).

By the end of our tasting my friend Gianni had joined the club and Matt bought three bottles. So needless to say we  all enjoyed ourselves, haha.

So if  you’re ever in the Napa area I highly recommend checking this cute little place out, it’ll definitely be worth the stop.

And if you can’t get to Napa feel free to check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

happy wednesday!

*ES didn’t ask me to write a review I just thought it’d be fun to toss a winery into the mix, so all praise and Wino speak is my own*
