Wino Wednesday the Fourteenth.

by katelin on November 9, 2011

Mmmmwine. I mean is there any other way to say it? No, I didn’t think so either.

And on we go! Today’s Wino Wednesday is brought to us by the lovely people at Waterstone Winery:

Here’s a little snippet about the winery:
Sourcing grapes from the climatic zones that best suit their particular development is not revolutionary, but it is remarkably effective in producing balanced wines that are earnest expressions of both the grape and the land from which it comes. This sensical approach is Waterstone’s hallmark. Zorn’s winemaking techniques are informed by this ideology; gentle handling of fruit, use of oak as appropriate, minimal filtration and fining and careful preservation of acidity are all indicative of the level of care exercised throughout.

The fine folks at Waterstone was nice enough to send me a bottle of their chardonnay and it was without a doubt one of the fastest disappearing bottles of wine to ever be in our apartment, haha.

Usually I prefer a good pinot, but Matt loves chardonnay. Good thing I like chardonnay as well. And great thing we both loved this bottle of wine. We opened it up one night last week and my goodness, it was delicious. It had a hint of sweetness and was a bit strong even, but it was so good. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it with dinner, it was a perfect accomplice.

It was also nice to drink after wine, basically if I haven’t said it enough, this wine was nice all around. I think it might have been one of the best one’s I’ve reviewed in a long time. I mean I know I like them all (it’s hard not to like wine really, haha) but this one stood out. It was nice and citrusy, light all around.

And if you want to get in on the action you can order some Waterstone wine here. And if you do, tell them I sent you and then tell me how much you love it!

Cheers!

happy wednesday!

  • Any time we open a bottle of wine in our house it lasts less than a night between me and Knight. If only we could have an endless supply of wine. I think the world just might be a happier place :)

  • I’m a whiskey-in-my-tea girl myself, but my roommate has been known to have 2 – 3 open bottles of wine in the fridge at all times…
