Wino Wednesday the Twelfth.

by katelin on October 5, 2011

Oh it’s Wino Wednesday you say? Well then. Let’s have a drink shall we?

This week’s Wino Wednesday is brought to us by the oh so fabulous Flip Flop wines who have been featured twice before (clearly I am a fan). I also picked them this week because as you’re reading this I’m hopefully wearing my own flip flops (or totally barefoot) on a beach somewhere in the Bahamas (sorry, had to brag a wee bit!):

And not like you need a refresher, but here’s a little somethin somethin about Flip Flop:
With flipflop wines, we have embraced the movement toward individualistic expression, instead of manufacturing wines into some cookie-cutter style that’s all the rage.  Our goal is to craft expressive, well-balanced wines that evoke just what the grapes inside intended, without being over-wrought or over-explained, and that can be enjoyed at any occasion.

Also, let’s know forget that they have partnered up with Soles4Souls in an effort to help put shoes on more than 100,000 feet. There are 300 million children in the world in need of shoes and Flipflop wines and Soles4Souls want to start somewhere to help, awesome right?

The best, right?

Right!

Anyhoo, let’s talk wine shall we?

This time around Flip Flop sent me a fabulous bottle of Moscato, mmmmm.

Now I’ll be honest, I don’t drink Moscato on the regular (I’m a Pinot and Chardonnay girl really) but it’s nice to mix it up. After a delicious dinner the other night I decided to open the bottle up for dessert. And oh what a good decision it was. Who knew Moscato went so well with jelly beans? And watching Dexter? An excellent combination right?

Right! Well the wine itself was quite sweet and quite delicious. It is definitely a dessert wine I think. Not sure I would have enjoyed it with my meal because it was such a strong taste but it was a sweet one, perfect for post-dinner.

So if you’re a sweet wine person, I highly recommend checking this out and you won’t be disappointed.

Also, if you want to participate in something awesome with Flip Flop wines check out the Flippin Good Deeds Challenge!
The flippin’ good deeds Challenge is a program for bloggers to encourage their communities to clean out their closets and donate gently worn footwear. Collect as many shoes as you can and blog about your “flippin’ good deeds” and experiences from September 6, 2011 to November 15, 2011 for a chance to win a trip for two on one of our international distribution trips*!

 happy wednesday!

*flipflop wine sent me wine free of charge and all of the opinions are my own. But really, it’s wine. How could I not write good things about it*

LOVE Moscato. Get yourself a bottle of the bubbly Moscato d’Asti. SO SO GOOD. It’s a breakfast bubbly, for sure.

I’m generally not a sweet wine person, though I do like a riesling with certain fish or chicken dishes. Moscato can be served with a meal, but I think it’s too sweet! It makes for a nice dessert wine for sure.

I’ve tried a few Flip Flop wines – there are huge displays in my local grocery store. They’re pretty good, especially for the price!

Hope you’re having a fabulous vacation.

I was so excited to watch Dexter but I kind of was disappointed in the first episode.

I finally tried Flip Flop Wines during my Bridesmaids viewing party and was delighted to find that I liked it too. I had the Cabarnet, but am now looking forward to trying the others
