The weekend, with love.

I love weekends, I really do. And I think we need more of them, all of the time. Clearly. Anyhoo without too much rambling I present, My weekend:

Friday: I took the day off of work but despite that I had to start my day with the dentist, superb. Afterwards I came home and furiously did some work and last minute things to email off before Matt and I made our way to Santa Monica to meet up with Nora and Knight. It was so fun getting to meet Knight and hanging out and we grabbed lunch at a sports bar and just got to catch up and chat in person, pretty much perfection. After lunch we ventured into the Market and had gelato and roamed stores and just yum. We even made our way down to the pier and got some quality people watching in before deciding to take a ride on the ferris wheel. Seriously it was just lovely.

such a cute couple.

Sadly after the ride Matt and I had to make our way home, so we said our goodbyes and hopped in the car to come on home. An hour and a half later we made it! Just in time to meet my family at dinner to celebrate my mom and my aunt’s birthdays! Dinner was fun times with margaritas and delicious food and my rambunctious family all trying to talk at once, good times all around. After dinner Matt decided that we should own the entire Harry Potter series so we detoured to Best Buy before heading to my parents’ house for some cake and hanging out. The rest of our night was spent relaxing at home with wine and the Wii and twas quite loverly all around.

Saturday: Slept in for a wee bit before doing some apartment cleaning and then lounging before making my way to Long Beach to celebrate the fabulous Kerri at her baby shower. Seriously, it was just the cutest. I thought Kerri was crafty, but apparently all of her friends are too and put on such an adorably cute and fun baby shower. It was so fun hanging out with such lovely ladies (so fun in fact that I only took three pictures! Drea took way more and I cant wait to see hers) and I cannot wait until Kerri becomes a mom:

such an adorable cupcake tree & LOVE the suitcases!

so many cute girly presents for Kerri, love.

with the lovely mom-to-be.

After the shower I made my way back home just in time to go out to dinner with Matt, his dad and brother and our friends Danny and Amanda. It was a fun little Italian place where we could bring our own wine and despite the bad service the food was delicious. Once we finished up dinner Matt and I went to my friend Amanda’s going away party for a bit. There was some excellent music and a good time catching up with her before she departed for England and then moving to Washington, crazy pants. Afterwards Matt and I had some plans but they fell through so instead we came on home and enjoyed the rest of our night together.

Sunday: Slept in a bit again (what? I need my sleep people!) before waking up and went on a decluttering spree of the apartment while watching The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest (almost as good as the book!) and cleaning some more. Eventually I met my friend Katrina for some cheesecake and dip before coming home to play some more Wii and go grocery shopping and then have our freezer go all spastic on us and then watch Harry Potter from the beginning and then blog and then yes. Lots of things. All the things. My life is full of things*

And how was your weekend? Any Harry Potter watching or wine drinking or freezer kapputting for you?

happy monday!

*I totally realized that I sound like Nicole with that phrase. Needless to say having her as a SoCal neighbor is rubbing off on me, haha*
