Right now.

I like a lot of things. And I like to make lists. And I like to share the lists of the things I like. And so we have today’s post, ta da!

To enjoy:

Just looking at this picture that San posted makes me happy. It makes me want to plug in twinkle lights and have popcorn and watch a movie every night. Always.

To read:

  • City of Thieves by David Benioff. A fascinating story, excellent characters and a quick read. Very much a favorite of this year.
  • The Color of Water by James McBride. I read this years ago and am waiting for a lull in my library books to read it again. It’s amazing and everyone should have to read it.
  • The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker. It’s both sad and fascinating and intriguing and you want to root for everyone, sort of.

To listen:

  • Just a Kiss” by Lady Antebellum. Seriously heart them, heart this song, heart it all.
  • Honey Bee” by Blake Shelton. A little bit like The Temptations and a whole lot of country cuteness.
  • Winter Winds” by Mumford & Sons. Soothing, beautiful, lovely. Basically the whole album is magical but this is my favorite.

To watch:

  • Storage Wars. I’ve talked about this before. I love this show just a little too much.
  • Toddlers & Tiaras/ My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. TLC runs my life apparently. And put on shows that are trainwrecks. And I can’t stop watching. They’re just so damn fascinating. And hilarious. And make me say “what the eff?” at least twice an episode.
  • The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The Swedish version. All three in the series are streaming on Netflix. Seriously. Watch. Well read the books and then watch. And then watch the American version this December because it looks awesome. *as most people have commented I guess I should add that this is a pretty intense read/watch but just so good. A girly movie may be in order after viewing*

And what would you recommend?

happy thursday!

I watched the Swedish version of Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and, um, well, it’s pretty disturbing. I mean, the book isn’t all that light and fluffy to start with, and I knew what was going to happen. But damn, I had nightmares about that for weeks. It’s excellently done, and the actress who plays Lisbeth is fantastic, it’s just has some really, uh, gritty scenes.

Speaking of TLC, watch “Surprise Homecoming” it is not trashy (well, except for Billy Ray Cyrus’ involvement). I just cried the whole time.

I need to check those books out! As for Storage Wars, you know my views. Barry is my homeboy. I watched the marathon last night and cursed Dave the whole time. But Barry? Barry in those shades and those skeleton gloves and those shirts that remind me of the ones Betty White wore on Golden Girls? He’s ridiculously awesome.

Also, that picture made me 8,495 shades of swoony.

Aw, I love that you are a country music fan, too! Makes me happy. :) I’ve been listening almost exclusively to country during my long commute to work for the past several months, and it always puts me in a happy mood.

And I don’t know how you were able to make it through The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo! Jay was watching it one day and it hurt my soul. I couldn’t even handle it. I felt like I needed to go watch Full House reruns to get my brain back on track…hahaha…

Winter Winds is my favorite song on the M&S album too. I listened to it on repeat when I was home for Christmas.

Happy Thursday!

If you like Storage Wars, then please tell me you have watched American Pickers & Desert Car Kings. We are kind of obsessed with them here in our house…

If you do set up your backyard like that can we please, please, please have a movie night/slumber party thing? That would be awesome.

That photo makes me happy. And for likes, do yourself a favor and create an Otis Redding radio station in Pandora- you’ll like what you hear.

I love lists as well. I am ashamed the only thing on this list I have done is listened to Winter Winds. I love Mumford & Sons! I’ll definitely have to start with some on your list! :) If you are into rock n’ roll (I don’t know if you are) and the electric guitar, you should watch the documentary It Might Get Loud. I watched it and it was life changing! At least for me.
